In America there is often a misunderstanding of the definition of 'self-defense' as it relates to a legal defense of the use of physical violence. 'The Knife' examines the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator of murder in such a situation as well as the dynamics that extend beyond the 'heat of the moment'.
